Father Irco Mena, grandfather
Irco Marco and great grandfather Irco Polo all jumped
Internationally and in WEG, European Championships and Nations Cup.
In only his second season Lars Irco G won the 7 year old
Championship in Belgium and Holland, was 2nd in the
German championships and won a national Grand Prix. In 1999 he won
the international Grand Prix in Monza, and was placed in the
international Grand Prix in Cinzano, Italy. He later was selected
to jump for Canada, but unfortunately broke his leg in an accident
and could not be saved. His best son must be the international
LarChin Gii who also is approved as a stallion, the impressive
daughter Liira Gii jumps international, as does Rosgan Irco Dora,
voted Best British Bred mare 2007. Other international progeny to
mention are Larinne G, Larmell G and Larco G, while Kells Pride is
successful in eventing and Loganlea Irco (competing name Bravado)
is advancing successfully in PSG dressage, with Inter 1 and 2 in
sight. This is a remarkable achievement as half of foals born are
competing at international level.
The sire Irco Mena, international jumper, ridden first by his owner/breeder Ann Gustavii, and later by Royne Zetterman, represented on several occasions his country in Nations Cup, including WEG in Hague, where they were individual 22nd. Irco Mena were also on the Nations Cup team in Luzern 1994, together with his full sister Marcoville, when Sweden for the first time won the Nations Cup for 45 years. The second time the two horses were together, they repeated the victory. Marcoville, ridden by Maria Gretzer, a well known international jumper, was also 6th individual in the Olympic Games in Barcelona. Irco Menas other full sister Mirca, combined brood-mare duties with jumping internationally under the Belgian rider Evelyn Blaton in WC and International Grand Prix. Irco Mena is leading Young Horse sire 1995 and 1996 in Sweden.
In 1998 he is the first stallion ever to have 4 offspring in
World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken representing
Swedish breeding (of 16 in total). Irco Mena also is the highest
rated stallion in Sweden, 32% winning progeny per covered
mare!
Irco Mena already have several horses on the BCM list of
international jumpers, such as So What 908, Nick of Diamonds, Dream
On, Snowman, Kataleis Fahrenheit and Zixten.
Irco Menas sire Irco Marco, himself a well known international
jumper, has been leading sire in Sweden for many years, and is also
the sire of several other international jumpers, including Chouman,
5th in WEG in Hague with Nelson Pessoa and Feliciano, ridden by
Maria Gretzer. Irco Marcos sire Irco Polo also jumped
internationally under Paul Weier.
Irco Marco have quite a few jumpers on the BCM list of
international horses, such as Feliciano 823, Chouman, Marcoville,
Irco Mena 763, Niklas 916, Oliver III, Greve Molke 937, Optiebeurs
Mirca, Burning Love, Milka, Moira, Primula, Simple Simon, Otto
Marco, Mirco and Irco Scott.
Irco Menas dam Ballymena Park was sister to Felton, well known
international jumper under Buddy Brown, USA. Her sire Menelekxx and
maternal sire Battle Burnxx (sire of Boomerang - Eddie Macken) were
two world famous Irish thoroughbred sires of international
jumpers.
The dam Lars Imp, herself an impressive jumper, has two full
brothers jumping internationally, one for Ireland and one for
Switzerland. This is the same pedigree as Master Maddox M (Hansueli
Sprunger).
Her sire Imperiusxx is one of the most well known sires of
international jumpers in later years in Ireland, Vivaldi (Nelson
Pessoa) and Master Maddox M are examples. Hook (formerly Hatton)
now also jumps for Canada in World Cup classes
Grandfather King of Diamonds, himself a successful jumper and one of the best sires of international jumpers in Ireland, as was Highland Flightxx. Special Envoy (Nelson & Rodrigo Pessoa) is another famous horse with the pedigree of King of Diamonds - Highland Flightxx. The grandmother Cinders and great grandmother Julie Anne has also given several international (including Olympic) jumpers.

MISS WILSON |
Shows exceptional scope, carefulness and boldness with very
athletic movements. He jumped his first affiliated classes in
February -97, ten double clear rounds in a row (being placed or
winning in virtually every class), to the delight of breeder/
owner/rider Ann Gustavii who has now competed the third generation
of this stallion line (starting with Irco
Marco).
Lars Irco G is now jumping with the same
ease with Nelson and Rodrigo Pessoa in Belgium, and has with them a
lot of winnings nationally and internationally during 1998, for
instance:
He won the international 7 year Championship in Arnheim with
Rodrigo Pessoa, after just four days before winning a national 7
year old Championship in Belgium, then ridden by groom/stable
jockey Guilherme Mattar. In Nivelle in August he was well placed in
all starts and finished by winning the National Grand Prix. The
following week he was again double clear and well placed in the big
stallion class in Gesves. Thereafter in Donaushingen (int.) he was
2nd in the 7 and 8 year old class, ridden by Nelson
Pessoa.
He qualified for the World Championship for Young Horses in
Lanaken end of September (1998). At the same time he jumped for the
judges of the stallion grading, and impressed enough to be approved
in the Zangersheide Studbook!
Later in the year, (his second year competing), he has jumped
several double clears in 1.45 Grand Prix and being placed,
including the International show in Mechelen in December, where he
was placed every day of the 5 days he competed.
He started 1999 with the Sunshine tour in Spain, having several
respectable placings, including in two Grand Prix. In May he
went to Italy and won the International Grand Prix of Monza, gained
some more placings, and was also 5th in the International Grand
Prix of Cinzano. We would have more to tell, but we still have
difficulties getting results through, not to mention
pictures!
Sadly, he had a short competition career with Monica Campbell, as unfortunately he was kicked by another horse so badly, that his front leg was broken, and he had to be put down.
Eldest progeny born 1995, lovely quality, big, elegant in
type and, as their sire, very athletic. Shows exceptional scope and
ability when loose jumped, very impressive indeed. His son
Lar Chin G (out of the full sister
to Chouman)
and Larinne G, ended up jumping
international, for Sweden, Norway, USA and Italy. We still have the
very talented
Liira G
and
there are many more.
Lar Chin G was approved as a stallion
with the SHB (GB) in november 2000.
Will suit all types of mares as his progeny shows lots of quality. Can also be used as an improver, as he adds quality and blood to the stronger mare. Very athletic, lovely movers, fantastic jumping ability and a very good temperament, Lars Irco G looks as talented a sire as his father.
