Father Irco Mena, grandfather Irco Marco and great grandfather Irco Polo all jumped Internationally and in WEG, European Championships and Nations Cup. Also his dam sire Raldo Polo was an international jumper, as was Grand-dam Mirca (placed WC). Irco Miro G himself jumped international in the biggest classes in Germany and for a short spell with John Whitaker, winning Suffolk County Grand Prix after John had only ridden him 5 days! Sadly he just the month after broke his neck in an accident in the horsebox, and survived, but was never the same. Not used much for stud, as he was too closely related to the rest of our horses, but he has a few young ones coming up now, to look at for the future. Most of his progeny are proven to be talented jumpers with a lovely sweet temperament, we ourselves have Irco Balou Gii, a beautiful quality bay stallion with a spectacular jumping technique. The chestnut Irco Fire G has been winning in Dressage as well as Eventing in Uk with a young rider. Irco Miro's full-sister have amongst others produced the stallions Balou Mena G and Drakkir G, both who have jumped internationally, and the young promising stallion Irco Alme Gii.
The sire Irco Mena, international jumper, ridden first by his owner/breeder Ann Gustavii, and later by Royne Zetterman, represented on several occasions his country in Nations Cup, including WEG in Hague, where they were individual 22nd. Irco Mena were also on the Nations Cup team in Luzern 1994, together with his full sister Marcoville, when Sweden for the first time won the Nations Cup for 45 years. The second time the two horses were together, they repeated the victory. Marcoville, ridden by Maria Gretzer, a well known international jumper, was also 6th individual in the Olympic Games in Barcelona. Irco Mena’s other full sister Mirca, combined brood-mare duties with jumping internationally under the Belgian rider Evelyn Blaton in WC and International Grand Prix. Irco Mena is leading Young Horse sire 1995 and 1996 in Sweden.
In 1998 he is the first stallion ever to have 4 offspring in World
Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken representing Swedish
breeding (of 16 in total). Irco Mena also is the
highest rated stallion in Sweden, 32% winning progeny per covered
mare!
Irco Mena’s sire Irco Marco, himself a well known international jumper, has been leading sire in Sweden for many years, and is also the sire of several other international jumpers, including Chouman, 5th in WEG in Hague with Nelson Pessoa and Feliciano, ridden by Maria Gretzer. Irco Marco’s sire Irco Polo also jumped internationally under Paul Weier.
Irco Mena’s dam Ballymena Park was sister to Felton, well known international jumper under Buddy Brown, USA. Her sire Menelekxx and maternal sire Battle Burnxx (sire of Boomerang - Eddie Macken) were two world famous Irish thoroughbred sires of international jumpers.
The dam Mira Polo G, herself an impressive jumper, with a lovely, rounded, careful jump, is a "premature baby" and a remaining twin. She competed lightly, and impressed us so much, that we decided to keep her on for breeding. We have not regretted that, as her progeny all have her lovely mind, and all are talented jumpers.
Her sire Raldo Polo is an uncle to Irco Marco and was an international jumper himself. He was very lightly used, as he was never approved by any breeding studbook as a sire, but was a very careful and stylish jumper with a sweet temperament and a fantastic pedigree. He was by Marco Polo out of a dam by Sinaeda, the same successful pedigree combination as Marius, such an international superstar with Caroline Bradley, Irco Polo, international jumper with Paul Weier and father to Irco Marco, and international jumping stallions Recruut, Interpol, and many others.
Grandmother Mirca G, was an international jumper under Evelyn Blaton, with placings in International Grand Prix's and World Cup, for a short period of her life. Her name then was Optiebeurs Mirca, and she was jumping for the Paul Schockemoehle stables. Apart from that she was used as a broodmare, having 10 foals. She was the full sister to Marcoville and Irco Mena, and proves the genetic value of this successful blood combination.

Showed tremendous scope, very round jump and super careful. He was a lovely horse to ride, very kind and helpful, light in the hand but still felt like to sit on a bomb when jumping. In the beginning he over-jumped his fences a lot, making distances between jumps very short, so he staid in smaller classes for a while. He also happened to be the favorite ride for breeder/owner/rider Ann Gustavii who has now comped the third generation of this stallion line (starting with Irco Marco). As time went on I however decided that Miro should have a younger and more professional rider, and therefore he was then sent to Gabriel Coumans in Holland. They there won their first class in Holland, in a very fast jump-off. And the weekend after, only 6 days later, they won another class, an accumulator with 80 starters! Next rider was Stefan Apt in Germany, where he has won classe S indoors, and been placed in two other S classes and one Grand Prix.
Then it was time to take him home again, and after a brief holiday he went to John Whitaker. After only a week together Miro won his first Grand Prix, the Suffolk County Show Grand Prix! Sadly he then broke his neck in an accident, but survived, and after a long time of treatment he is now back being ridden again, but sadly no in the same classes, as his injury affected his balance (he lost his nerves to his hind-legs).
Not very many progeny, but but scopey and with a lovely temperament. We love his son Irco Balou Gii out of Balirca Gii. Not so big, but a quality type, and so scopey he is hard to sit on over fences!
A well built horse with good bone and a strong back, with a fantastic, sweet temperament. Looks like a slightly stronger Irco Mena, and will suit well for the lighter type of mare as well as an average built mare. Being so careful and with such power, he must just breed jumpers with any mare. With his line-bred pedigree, he is proving to be dominant in breeding, and would be ideal also for the thoroughbred type mare.
