Pedigree

The sire Alme des Nids was severely injured as a foal and could never be ridden. Although permanently lame, he showed great talent and scope when loose jumped. He was extremely brave and had an exceptional temperament.

Alme des Nids sire Almé was a famous Nations Cup and Grand Prix horse, a legend in his life time, as much a legend for his own results as for his superior offspring. Such as international superstars: Galoubet A, French Champion, numerous International Grand Prix wins and member of the French World Champion team; also numerous offspring in international competition, I Love You, World Cup Champion Winner and horse of the year in 1983, vice World Cup Champion 1984, who with all his international wins was the most successful stallion in the world; Jalisco B, International Grand Prix and Olympic horse (Seoul), he also sired the World Champion Quito de Baussy as well as three quarters of the French Olympic team in Barcelona; ( Quidam de Revel and Papillon Rouge), Joyau d'Or, big international winner and Olympic horse (Los Angeles); Jolly Good, Indoor Puissance World Record, and many more.

Alme des Nids dam Queen des Nids, a favourite jumper of Nelson Pessoa, comes from one of the best mare lines in France, the same as Narcos II, an International Grand Prix horse and winner of the European Championships for Juniors. The very famous mother of Narcos II, Gemini was out of a mare named Il Pleut Bergere who's full sister was named Garcon Manque. The same Garcon Manque was an International showjumper, not much used in breeding, but her daughter Quenotte was the dam of Alme Des Nids' grandsire. Queen Des Nids is by the Nankin (sire of the champion jumping sire Uriel) son Foudre de Guerre, who also was an international jumper, and sire of Loripierre, International Grand Prix horse and also French Champion. Loripierre has a son with Quidam de Revel, that is showing great international promise, the talented Tlaloc la Silla. Maternal grand sire Laurier Rose was also an international showjumper.

 

The dam of Almero Gii is Ecu Mena G, by the outstanding stallion and Nations cup horse Irco Mena out of the International speed horse Europe G. Europe G was born in France, and sold to England and the Gustavii stud as a foal. When her papers arrived a year later she was renamed as Ecume de Mer, but her first name stuck. Europes sire Laudanum was a small beautiful thoroughbred and a Nations Cup horse, as was her dam sire Paladin des Ifs and granddam the anglo arab Fidelite A.

Performance

This horse has been jumping lightly, as is the custom of the Gustavii Stud, but shows a lovely scopey round jump with superb technique, and also carefulness, just like his grand dam Europe G.

 

Progeny

 We have a lovely yearling filly called Almea Gii, that jumps out of the field in a perfect shape over the electrical wire just for fun. We have frozen his semen, showing to be of high quality.
